To understand this chart, a single person making less than $5,805 gross per month can in most cases automatically qualify for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing.

The gross amount is based on a six month average so that if the person were to file this month, the average would be from September, 2022 - February, 2023. A husband and wife with two minor children would use the numbers for a household size of 4.

Note that just because a person is over the above-described amounts does not necessarily mean that he or she cannot file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy relief. Ever situation is different. There may be offsetting expenses that make the person eligible such as mortgage, car and support payments.
